In fourteen Sarajevo schools, the first part of the educational project the „Planet's Smile is in Your Hands“ successfully finalized
Today, on the premises of the International Youth Center Grbavica, the final quiz on separate packaging waste disposal and recycling was organized for students of 14 schools from the Sarajevo Canton.
Eight primary schools participated at the project: Isak Samokovlija, Musa Ćazim Ćatić, KŠC „Sveti Josip“- Osnovna škola, Nafija Sarajlić, Velešićki heroji, Aleksa Šantić, Dobrošević and Prva osnovna škola Ilidža, and six secondary schools: Peta gimnazija, KŠC „Sveti Josip“ – Opća realna gimnazija, KŠC „Sveti Josip“ – Srednja medicinska škola, Srednja medicinska škola Bjelave, Srednja ugostiteljsko-turistička škola and Srednja ekonomska škola.
The objective of the „Planet's Smile is in Your Hands“ project, which has been implemented for two years now, is to provide the conditions for separate packaging waste disposal as an everyday habit with the youngest citizens and in the future, the new culture of living of all the BIH citizens.
By the quiz finale, the first phase of the „Planet's Smile is in Your Hands“ project was completed, the project which was implemented in the period from November 2013 to March 2014 by Ekopak supported by Ekotim. Over 1500 participated in the project, and the best three students from each school-participant, attended the final quiz.
Forty eight students participated at the quiz finale, and the best knowledge about the packaging waste disposal and recycling showed, in the primary schools category:
1st prize – Aneđala Bošnja, KŠC „Sv. Josip“, Osnovna škola Mejtaš
2nd prize – Antonija Jerkić, KŠC „Sv. Josip“, Osnovna škola Mejtaš
3rd prize – Mija Petrović, KŠC „Sv. Josip“, Osnovna škola Mejtaš
and in the secondary schools category:
1st prize – Tesnim Karišik, Peta gimnazija, Sarajevo
2nd prize – Sumeja Huseinović, Srednja ekonomska škola, Sarajevo
3rd prize – Amina Delalić, Peta gimnazija, Sarajevo
Ekopak has prepared valuable prizes for the quiz winners: first prizes: tablets, second prizes: photo-camera and the third prizes – school bag. Along with that, Ekopak donated sets of packaging waste disposal bins/nets in adequate colors for separate packaging waste disposal so that the students have an opportunity to practice what they have learned on the Ekopak workshops.
All students who participated at the educational part of the project received acknowledgments, and the winners also received certificates.
The „Planet's Smile is in Your Hands“ project has been implemented in the Prozor Rama Municipality as well. Ekopak also announces that the project is being realized in the Kladanj Municipality and it will soon be initiated in the Posušje Municipality and municipalities of Tuzla and Una-Sana Canton.
