On April 21, 2026, a conference titled “Circular Economy for Bosnia and Herzegovina – Presentation of Good Practice Examples” was held in Sarajevo at Hotel Hills, organized within the CETAP project and funded by the European Union.

The conference brought together representatives of institutions, the business sector, financial institutions, academia, and civil society, with the aim of exchanging experiences and presenting concrete solutions in the field of circular economy.

As part of the program, Ekopak presented its activities and achieved results as a Packaging Waste Management System Operator (PRO), with a particular focus on the development of the Extended Producer Responsibility system in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its contribution to improving packaging waste recycling.

During the conference, discussions covered the implementation of EU requirements in the waste sector, the economic aspects of the circular transition, the role of data in planning, as well as specific examples of good practices from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The findings of the CETAP study on the market potential of the circular economy in BiH were also presented, along with recommendations for the further development of this sector.

Ekopak’s participation in such events confirms its significant role in advancing the packaging waste recycling system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
