Pursuant to Article 26 of the Ordinance on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ekopak submitted the "Annual Report on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management for 2024" to the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the report, Ekopak sent a total of 22,331 tons of packaging waste for recycling in 2024 through a network of 24 collectors from all 10 cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With this amount, the general goal set by the law was not only met, but it was exceeded by 4%.

The specific goals according to the type of packaging material were also exceeded:

• glass by 3%,

• metal by 7%,

• paper for 3%,

• plastic by 6%,

• wood for 5%,

• packaging of hazardous materials by 4%.

Since the beginning of work in 2012, Ekopak has sent almost 160.000 tons of packaging waste for recycling, which corresponds to the load of about 9.000 trucks. "These results confirm the success of our system and the commitment of the entire Ekopak team. I would like to especially thank the more than 900 clients who have transferred to us the legal obligation related to meeting recycling targets, as well as our network of 22 collectors - 11 public utility companies and 11 private companies - distributed throughout the Federation of BiH, from Bihać to Tomislavgrad. Their work directly contributes to reducing the amount of municipal waste in landfills and developing a circular economy. In 2025, we continue with even greater motivation to further develop the system - with maximum benefit for the environment and minimal impact on product prices and in the interest of the entire community," said Ekopak Director Amela Hrbat.
