Today, a cooperation agreement was ceremonially signed at the premises og Ekopak, marking the inclusion of the Public Utility Company Komunalno Mostar into the Ekopak system. The agreement was signed by the director of PUC Komunalno Mostar, Đani Rahimić, and the director of Ekopak, Amela Hrbat.

With the signing of this agreement, the city of Mostar begins the establishment of a system for the separate disposal of packaging waste, which will be collected in special containers placed throughout the city. PC Komunalno Mostar will be responsible for emptying the containers and preparing the packaging waste for recycling, while Ekopak will ensure that all collected packaging waste enters the recycling process.

"We are pleased that PUC Komunalno Mostar is joining to our system, and we are ready to provide all necessary support to successfully establish a system for the separate disposal of packaging waste in Mostar, with the goal of recycling it," said Amela Hrbat, director of Ekopak.

This partnership represents an important step towards reducing the amount of municipal waste disposed at the Uborak landfill, directly contributing to the saving of landfill space and preventing the unnecessary accumulation of materials that can be recycled. Additionally, recycling packaging waste helps to protect natural resources. For example, instead of cutting down trees for paper production, recycled paper will be used, which is a significant contribution to environmental protection.

PUC Komunalno Mostar is the fifteenth public utility company from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to become part of the Ekopak system. The shared goal of these activities is to increase the amount of packaging waste that is separated from municipal waste and directed towards recycling.
