Contract about the procurement of a vehicle for packaging waste transport in the Municipality of Novi Travnik was signed today in the premises of Ekopak. The contract was signed by the director of PUC Vilenica-Čistoća, Svjetlana Tokalić, and the director of Ekopak, Amela Hrbat.

This investment represents another step towards improving of packaging waste collection and recycling system in the Municipality, significantly contributing to environmental protection.

The procurement of the vehicle is co-financed by the Municipality of Novi Travnik, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction, Environmental Protection, Return and Housing Affairs of SBK, Ekopak, and PUC Vilenica-Čistoća. This initiative is a continuation of the long-standing cooperation between Ekopak and PUC Vilenica-Čistoća, which have been working together since 2014 to establish and develop the packaging waste management system in the Municipality of Novi Travnik.

Since the beginning of the cooperation, significant amounts of packaging waste from this municipality have been collected and sent for recycling, reducing the amount of mixed municipal waste disposed of at the Mošćanica landfill. With this vehicle procurement, further improvement in collection efficiency and an increase in the amount of waste that will be handed over for recycling through the Ekopak system is expected.

Ekopak and PUC Vilenica-Čistoća Novi Travnik remain committed to the common goal – reducing landfill pressure, protecting natural resources and building a sustainable waste management system for a better tomorrow.
