During the Sarajevo Film Festival, which took place from August 16 to 23, 2024, Ekopak, the authorized operator of the packaging waste management system, collected significant quantities of packaging waste through various channels.

Total collected amounts of packaging waste

The total amount of waste collected during the festival was 39,908 kilograms. Of this, the largest portion consisted of glass packaging with 25,920 kilograms, while the collected quantities of plastic packaging amounted to 5,516 kilograms, cans 2,365 kilograms, cardboard and paper 2,780 kilograms, and mixed municipal waste 2,464 kilograms.

Waste collection from Coca-Cola containers

A total of 17,036 kilograms of waste was collected through Coca-Cola containers placed at various locations during the festival. Here, glass packaging was also the most prevalent with 5,184 kilograms, followed by plastic packaging with 5,452 kilograms, cans with 2,336 kilograms, cardboard/paper with 2,518 kilograms, and mixed municipal waste with 1,546 kilograms.

Waste collection from Bambi containers

From Bambi containers, 1,218 kilograms of waste were collected, of which mixed waste amounted to 864 kilograms, plastic packaging 64 kilograms, cans 28 kilograms, and cardboard/paper 262 kilograms.

Can collection for Argeta

In addition to the above activities, Ekopak also collected cans for the company Atlantic Argeta. A total of 94 cans were collected.

These results are proof of Ekopak's commitment to improving the recycling system and actively participating in recycling activities during one of the most significant cultural events in the region.
