A year has passed since the opening of the recycling yard in Paromlinska Street in Sarajevo, which was co-financed by Ekopak.
In this regard, we have recorded good results in collecting and recycling various types of packaging waste.
A total of 124 tons of waste was collected, including:
2049 kg of PET packaging: The recycling yard successfully collected over two tons of PET packaging, contributing to the reduction of plastic waste that ends up in the Smiljevići.
10940 kg of wooden packaging: A significant amount of over ten thousand kilograms of wooden packaging was collected and redirected to recycling.
5262 kg of paper and cardboard: We collected more than five thousand kilograms of paper and cardboard materials and reduced the need for cutting down new trees.
2611 kg of glass packaging: A significant amount of over two tons of glass packaging was successfully submitted for recycling.
Amela Hrbat, the director of Ekopak, expressed satisfaction with the results achieved and emphasized the importance of cooperation with JKP Rad Sarajevo to significantly increase the collected quantities in the future, as the potential is great.
