On Friday, December 29, 2023, Ekopak and the Public Utility Company Bioštica Olovo signed a mutual cooperation agreement. The director of Ekopak, Amela Hrbat, and the director of Bioštice, Kasim Kljajić, signed a contract for the procurement of a smaller vehicle for collecting packaging waste from the area of the Municipality of Olovo.

This step marks the continuation of successful collaboration between Ekopak and Bioštice, dating back to 2014, during which specific quantities of packaging waste have been collected and sent through Ekopak's system for recycling. In 2023, there was a noticeable increase in these quantities, prompting Ekopak to support Bioštice in continuing to separate larger amounts of packaging waste from municipal waste, thus reducing the amount of waste ending up in the local landfill.

Investing in infrastructure for collecting packaging waste will undoubtedly have long-term positive effects on the environment of the Municipality of Olovo.
