Ekopak sent 11,911 tons of packaging waste for recycling - "Report on packaging waste management for 2020"
Despite an extremely challenging year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Ekopak with its partners - 21 collectors from all over the Federation of BiH, on behalf of more than 700 producers, importers, distributors and traders managed to send 11,911 tons of packaging waste for recycling.
The results and achieved goals for 2020 in the "Annual Report on Packaging Waste Management", which Ekopak submits every year to the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of BiH, once again confirmed the success and business agility of Ekopak's network of associates.
Despite many challenges, Ekopak managed to maintain stability in its business, optimize operations and maintain a recycling system in cooperation with its partners. Thus, with its associates, it has handed over more than 70,000 tons of packaging waste for recycling since 2012.
"In addition to the challenges we face, the past year was marked by a pandemic that resulted in market disruption. Nevertheless, we managed to achieve the set goals and maintain our position in the development of packaging waste management system. At a time when everything is focused on preserving health and fighting for life, we feel proud because we still managed to live our mission and achieve results in very difficult conditions" said Amela Hrbat. Ekopak, with its network of associates consisted of 21 collectors from ten cantons in FBiH, of which 10 are public utility companies and 11 private companies, will continue to actively work on the development of a system for separate collection and recycling of packaging waste in a legal and transparent manner, implementing the best european practices and for the benefit of the whole community.
