On Friday and Saturday (16th and 17.12.2016.) activists of NGO Ekotim implemented the distribution of eco-bags for separate disposal of packaging waste in neighborhoods Trg Heroja, Cengic Vila and Vogosca. Citizens received information about properly separate disposal of packaging waste in these neighborhoods where Ekopak set up the infrastructure, ie. appropriate containers for separate disposal of packaging waste. By adequate disposal of packaging waste in this neighborhoods will be reduced the amount of waste which is daily disposed at landfill Smiljevići.

The settlement of the infrastructure for separate disposal of packaging waste was well welcomed by citizens, especially the younger generation is happy to separate their waste to usable components.

This activity is a continuation of the activities planned for the European Week for Waste Reduction 2016, which was also this year promoted in Sarajevo through support of Ministry for Physical Planning and Environment of Canton Sarajevo, Ekopak, Ekotim and COOR. The Sarajevo Canton joined this year to the initiative of the European week for waste reduction, where participated 34 European countries with a total of 12,255 registered actions. Since this year's main topic of EWWR is Preservation of natural resources by reducing packaging waste, Ekopak gave its contribution.
