Youth Eco Reporters detect environmental problems in local communities
Sarajevo, 25.-26.10.2016. - Munja Incubator, Ministry of Human Rights, Ekopak and partners organized Youth leaders Forum on the occasion of 1st anniversary of leading info platform for youth empowerment Hocu.ba in the White Hall of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which included 60 young leaders. The forum is an opportunity for networking, sharing experiences, and creating a plan that will trough the platform Hoću.ba influence on their peers to trigger, use a variety of programs to develop skills and become familiar with their rights. Ekopak recognized the role Hoću.ba info platform and wants to help to educate and empower young people especially when it comes to the broad field of recycling of packaging waste and environmental protection, so it is announced the beginning of the project Youth Eco Reporters.
Ekopak and Hoću.ba will begin in future with the Youth Eco Reporters covering the high school students from across the country, their journalistic sections, as well as journalism students and other stakeholders. By using the international methodology, the Youth Eco Reporters will allow youth to detect environmental problems in their local communities, to create creative journalistic work on them and influence on the public. It will also develop journalistic and analytical skills, and will be organized and a special competition. Hocu.ba platform is ideal for the promotion of these stories and influence on other young people to be leaders in their communities, and also to become interested in their sustainable development.
