"Green Dot" certification continued in Herzegovina
Ekopak started "Green Dot" certification in May this year. All certified companies have signed contract with Ekopak and legally regulated the right for labeling their packaging with international "Green Dot" trademark.
On this occasion, representatives of Ekopak visited headquarters of the company Ledo, Ataco, Agrokor, Bossin and Dara to personally deliver the "Green Dot" certificate. By that act Ekopak shows gratitude to all companies that have recognized Ekopak as their system operator. Ekopak is trust to fulfill their obligations for recycling arising from the Ordinance on packaging and packaging waste in the Federation of BiH on their behalf.
"Green Dot" is an internationally registered trademark of Pro Europe, the umbrella organization of European system operators for the management of packaging and packaging waste. The "Green Dot" trademark is the most widespread and most used trademark in the world, protected in more than 170 countries. Around 460 billion packaging units annually are marked with "Green Dot", and more than 170.000 companies mark their products with this symbol. 300 million people in the EU has access to separated disposal of packaging waste, which is being financed by the operator members of PRO EUROPE.
The "Green Dot" certificate is an indicator of social responsible companies who care about protecting the environment and taking care of packaging waste generated using their products. Through Ekopak, they are financially contributing to the establishment and development of an efficient, transparent, sustainable and long-term system for the collection and recycling of packaging waste in BiH.
In future, this certificate will be handed to all companies (manufacturers, importers and end suppliers) involved in the Ekopak system that put their products marked with "Green Dot" on the market, thus enabling the consumers to make a contribution to environmental protection by purchasing products with this sign.
At the same time, Ekopak conducted market research with the aim to legitimate arrange authorized use of the international trademark, which is one of the obligations arising from Ekopak membership in the Pro Europe. Ekopak invites all companies that are using the "Green Dot" trademark to report it to Ekopak and to regulate the use of this prestigious trademark on the packaging of their products.
