Ekopak awarded "Green Dot" certificates
Sarajevo, 14th. May 2015 - Ekopak organized an official event for "Green Dot" certification on 14th May at the Hotel Hercegovina in Ilidža. Certificates were awarded to directors and company representatives of companys: Akova, Atlantic, dm, Dukat, Coca Cola, FDS, Heidelberg Cement Kakanj, Henkel, JUB, Makrovita, Orbico, Stock and other subjects that by signing contract with EKOPAK have a right to use the logo "Green Dot" on the packaging of their products.
With the awarded certificates, Ekopak wanted to express satisfaction and gratitude to the companies that have recognized Ekopak as their system operator and placed their trust in Ekopak to fulfill obligations for recycling, based on Rule Book on Packaging and Packaging Waste in Federation, on their behalf.
Representatives of Ekopak visited the headquarters of the companys Ledo, Ataco, Agrokor and Bossin to personally hand over the "Green Dot" certificate.
The "Green Dot" certificate is an
indicator of social responsible companies that are protecting the
environment and care about packaging waste generated using their products. They
are also contributing financially over Ekopak to the establishment and
development of an efficient, transparent, sustainable and long-term system for
the collection and recycling of packaging waste in BiH.
In future, this certificate will be handed
to all companies (manufacturers, importers and end suppliers) involved in the Ekopak
system and which place their products marked with "Green Dot" on the
market, thus enabling the consumers to make a contribution to environmental
protection by purchasing products with this sign.
"Green Dot" is an internationally
registered trademark of Pro Europe, the umbrella organization of European
system operators for the management of packaging and packaging waste. The sign
"Green Dot" is the most widespread and most used trademark in the
world, protected in more than 170 countries. Around 460 billion packaging units
annually are marked by "Green Dot", and more than 170,000 companies mark
packaging of their products with this symbol. 300 million people in the EU have
access to separate collection of packaging waste, which is financed by operator
members of PRO EUROPE.
