Consumers in shopping malls informed about the meaning and importance of Green Dot
Ekopak conducted a campaign in order to educate consumers about the meaning and importance of the Green Dot - an international trademark which can be seen on the packaging of many products in BiH. As part of the campaign, Ekopak organized promotions in shopping malls in Banja Luka, Bihać, Tuzla, Zenica, Sarajevo and Mostar.
Consumers were very interested and participated in wining the eco - shopping bag by purchasing products with the Green Dot. For the youngest consumers there was interactive space for playing, drawing and photography.
Green Dot is an internationally registered mark used to indicate the packaging of the product. It is used by socially responsible companies who pay fees for packaging through an authorized system operators Ekopak and by that finance system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste in our country.
The sign is world-wide popular because it sends a message to consumers that by buying products which are marked with a Green Dot, they directly participate in the recycling of packaging waste and protect the environment. That is the message to packaging companies to use a sign on the packaging and in this way make their products popular among consumers. Green Dot is protected in more than 170 countries and more than 170,000 companies world-wide use this sign to mark over 460 billion units of packaging waste annually.
By purchasing a product that has this sign on, consumers as individuals, contribute to environmental protection. About 300 million people have access to separate disposal of packaging waste, which is financed by members of PRO EUROPE - the system operators such as Ekopak.
