System Establishment of Separate Collection of Packaging Waste in Kladanj
Today in the
Operative building of JP "Komunalac" in Kladanj, Ekopak handed the necessary
infrastructure for establishing a system of separate collection of packaging
waste in this municipality.
Infrastructure handover ceremony was
attended by Mr. Jusuf Čavkunović - the
mayor of Kladanj Municipality, Mrs. Suvada Kavazović - the director of JP
"Komunalac" from Kladanj and Amela
Hrbat - the director of Ekopak.
Ekopak provided to JP
"Komunalac", containers of
1100 liters for the establishment of
two eco-islands that will collect all kinds of packaging waste: plastic,
multilayer materials, paper, glass and metals. Also, for all educational and
public institutions in the Municipality of Kladanj, we've provided 40 waste-bins for selection of packaging waste from
plastics, multilayer materials and paper, as well as 120 punnets for selection of packaging waste in school classrooms.
With the aim of establishing sustainable
packaging waste management system in the municipality of Kladanj, earlier this
year Ekopak with the Government of Japan, co-financed the purchase of two
special vehicles for the transport of packaging waste.
Kladanj is one of the Municipalities in
FBiH, which has been affected by the recent floods and landslides, and the infrastructure
donated from Ekopak will help in the process of normalization and improvement
of waste management in the municipality of Kladanj and the alleviation of the consequences
of natural disaster.
During the past school year, Ekopak is also
successfully implemented this educational project "The Planet's Smile is
in Your Hands", which was attended by more than 400 students from the
Kladanj Municipality. After educational workshops, we’ve organized competition
in a form of a Quiz, and we handed over some valuable prizes for the most successful once.
